Air Purifier

Whole-home air purifiers install directly into your ductwork and treat every cubic foot of air your furnace or AC moves, which is the only way to actually clean indoor air at scale. Portable room units help one room; a duct-mounted system handles the whole house. The two main technologies are HEPA media filtration (captures particles down to 0.3 microns: dust, pollen, dander, smoke) and UV-C light or photocatalytic oxidation (kills mold, bacteria, viruses on the coil and in the air stream).
For Toronto homes dealing with summer wildfire smoke, winter dry air recirculation, and pet allergens, a combined HEPA plus UV-C setup outperforms anything you can do at the room level. Most systems mount on the return duct and use minimal electrical draw.
