The evaporator coil is the indoor half of your air conditioner or heat pump. It sits on top of the furnace inside the supply plenum, and refrigerant inside its copper tubes absorbs heat from the air your blower pushes across it. Without a properly matched coil, even a high-SEER2 condenser will fall short of its rated efficiency, ice up, or fail prematurely.
Coils come cased (sealed sheet-metal cabinet, drop-in install) or uncased (bare core, used when you’re fitting it inside an existing plenum). Sizing follows the outdoor unit: a 3-ton condenser pairs with a 36 (3 ton) coil, a 4-ton with a 48, and so on. AHRI-matched pairings are what manufacturer warranties require.
We carry Lennox, KeepRite, Goodman, Tempstar, Ruud, and Comfortmaker N-coils and A-coils in 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, and 48 sizes. Coils are always installed alongside an AC or heat pump replacement: book a consult through our AC installation page.
