About the Comfortmaker ENA4X42L21A Uncased N-Coils
Who this coil is for
This Comfortmaker N-coil is the indoor heat-exchange half of a split AC or heat pump system. It’s chosen based on the tonnage of the outdoor condenser (the digits in the model number reference nominal capacity in thousands of BTU), the cabinet style of your existing furnace, and whether you need a cased or uncased configuration. Uncased coils slot inside an existing supply plenum during a coil-only replacement; cased coils drop in as a complete sheet-metal cabinet.
Why AHRI-matched coils matter
Comfortmaker rounds out the Carrier-family lineup alongside KeepRite and Tempstar. Same factory, same parts, slightly different cabinet and badge. Reliable mid-range equipment at competitive pricing for the GTA market.
Pairing a coil with a non-matched outdoor unit is the single most common reason a new AC fails to hit its rated SEER2 efficiency. Manufacturers publish AHRI-certified pairings for a reason, and warranties hinge on installing a matched system.
Installation notes
Coil replacement involves recovering refrigerant from the system, cutting and rebrazing line set joints, pulling a deep vacuum, and recharging to manufacturer spec. It is licensed work in Ontario. We include all of it as part of a coil install or full system replacement.
Warranty
Comfortmaker N-coils in this series are typically covered by a 10-year limited parts warranty when registered with the matching outdoor unit.
Cased vs uncased — quick guide
An uncased coil like this one is the bare aluminum or copper coil core, supplied without the surrounding sheet-metal cabinet. It’s the right pick when you’re dropping a new coil into an existing furnace plenum that already has the cabinet sized correctly, which is the common situation on a coil-only replacement. Cased coils make sense on a fresh install where there’s no plenum to slot into, or when the plenum dimensions don’t match the new coil footprint.
