About the KeepRite C4A6S30 Air Conditioner
Who this air conditioner is for
This KeepRite condenser is sized for a defined slice of GTA homes: undersized for a 3,500 sq ft poorly insulated bungalow, oversized and short-cycling for a 1,200 sq ft condo. The right pick comes from a Manual J load calculation that accounts for window area, insulation, ductwork, and shading, not from the size of whatever’s already sitting beside the house.
Why customers pick KeepRite
KeepRite is the value-engineered Carrier-family brand built for Canadian conditions. Same parts pipeline as Carrier and Bryant, lower price tag, and a strong dealer network across Ontario for parts availability years down the road.
Installation notes
An AC swap looks simple from the curb but involves an AHRI-matched indoor evaporator coil sized to the new condenser, a fresh refrigerant line set or properly flushed existing lines, a 240V disconnect, condensate drainage, a level pad, and clearance for service access. Modern refrigerants (R-454B / R-32 on 2025+ units) also bring updated handling and storage requirements that DIY installs miss.
Warranty and rebates
KeepRite typically offers a 10-year limited parts warranty on this category when the unit is registered within 60 days. Higher-SEER2 condensers (16+) often qualify for utility rebates through Enbridge Home Efficiency Rebate Plus when bundled with other upgrades.
Sizing in tons (refresher)
HVAC tonnage is shorthand for cooling capacity: 1 ton equals 12,000 BTU per hour. The model number on most condensers references that tonnage in the digits before or after the family code. A typical Toronto bungalow falls in the 2 to 3 ton range, a two-storey detached home runs 2.5 to 4 tons, and a larger renovated or addition-heavy home can hit 5 tons. Always sized off a load calculation, never off the old unit’s nameplate.
