About the Rinnai RU130iN Super High Efficiency Plus
Who this Rinnai unit is for
Tankless water heaters in the Super High Efficiency Plus line are aimed at homeowners replacing an aging tank or building a new home and choosing tankless from the start. The bigger model numbers in this series push more flow at a given temperature rise, so larger families running multiple showers and a dishwasher at once benefit most. In a typical Toronto winter the incoming groundwater can drop near 5 C, so capacity headroom matters more here than it does in warmer climates.
Why customers pick Rinnai
Rinnai is the original tankless water heater specialist and still the volume leader in North America. Decades of refinement on the burner and heat exchanger design, a dense parts and service network across the GTA, and the strongest residential warranty in the tankless category.
Installation notes
Tankless installs need a properly sized natural gas line, dedicated venting (concentric or PVC depending on the model), a condensate drain for condensing units, and an isolation valve kit for annual descaling. Most retrofits from a tank also need a gas line upgrade because tankless burns at a much higher peak BTU rate during a draw. We handle all of it including the ESA permit where required.
Warranty and rebates
Rinnai’s residential warranty on this series runs years on the heat exchanger, with shorter terms on parts and labour. Energy Star certified condensing tankless units are typically eligible for Enbridge Home Efficiency Rebate Plus when installed alongside other qualifying upgrades.
